Terms & Conditions
Last updated 9 September 2026. These terms are generated from your business settings; have them checked by a solicitor before relying on them.
1. Who we are
DemoRod is a sole trader trading as DemoRod. Contact: 12 Example Street, Leeds, LS1 1AA, hello@example.com, 0113 000 0000. Gas Safe Register number 123456.
2. Quotes and estimates
A quote is a fixed price for the work described and is valid for 30 days. An estimate is our best assessment and the final price may vary if the work turns out to be different; we will tell you before continuing if it will cost more. Where we charge by time, our rates are shown on our pricing page or told to you before we start, and time is charged in 30-minute units after the first hour.
3. Your order and our contract
A contract is formed when you accept a quote (in writing, by text or verbally) or ask us to start work. For emergency and time-based work, the contract is formed when you ask us to attend.
4. Deposits and payment
Payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing. Invoices are payable within 7 days. We accept bank transfer and card. Late payment may incur statutory interest. Materials remain our property until paid for in full.
5. Cancelling an appointment
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or move an appointment. If you are a consumer and the contract was made away from our premises (for example at your home, by phone or online), you also have a statutory 14-day right to cancel; see our cancellation rights page.
6. Our obligations
We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, using materials of satisfactory quality, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Gas work is carried out only by Gas Safe registered engineers. We hold public liability insurance of £2,000,000.
7. Your obligations
Please give us safe access, tell us about known hazards (asbestos, faulty electrics, pets), keep the working area clear and ensure someone over 18 is present. If we cannot access the property at the agreed time, a call-out charge may apply.
8. Guarantee
Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty. Full details are on our guarantee page. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
9. Things we are not responsible for
Pre-existing faults or damage; problems caused by old or corroded pipework we did not install, where we told you of the risk; work by others; failure of a repair caused by not following our advice; and losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
10. Complaints
If something is wrong, tell us as soon as possible using our complaints procedure. We aim to put things right quickly.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings there.
